Time To Confront Faithless Electors? Now!
What would you do if you learned a family member, friend, neighbor or coworker plans to be a faithless elector?
In light of Trump’s confidently stating he doesn’t need votes — I wonder! Are faithless electors (aka bad-faith electors — BFE’s) Trumps trump card?
Is an organized effort to defy vote certification the source of Trump’s assurance you need not ever vote for him after this election? After all, Trump learned an act of violence doesn’t play well with most folks. Acts of disobedience — that’s another story. The MAGA cult just loves a heaping serving or two of defiance. True?
So let’s turn our attention to the social aspects of BFE’s. Who are these folks who righteously believe they’ll practice patriotism by not certifying valid ballot results. Do BFE’s believe the delay of certifying the results of an election until whatever machinations play out is some form of duty to uphold the pledge they made to certify election results?
Do BFE’s have any awareness that for the rest of their life, they’ll have to answer for their actions? When BFE’s family, friends, neighbors, coworkers as well as registered voters who properly voted personally know someone who willingly chose to place their vote in question — then what? If voters follow MAGA norms, the retribution MAGA cult members twitch for (similar to an addict in the throws of finding whatever they need to scratch that itch), will play out in creative ways no doubt! For example, will identified BFE’s suddenly experience unemployment similar to folks finding themselves fired after a Youtube video that captured a less than civil action goes viral? No doubts those who suffer from the lack of efficient vote certification will have to decide if they want to go high or low based on the impact of potentially months of legal wrestling. Wrestling to step-by-step certify votes that prove no reason NOT to certify said votes.
Now is the time to deal with BFE’s BEFORE they choose to dramatically impact the life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for both country and kin.
I’ll start with a question. What would you do — today — if you learned a family member, friend, neighbor or coworker plans to be a faithless elector. Apparently, there’s 70 people already lined up to question votes.
As more people demand officials inform BFE’s that they’ll face penalties for being a faithless elector including loss of freedom, money, or privilege, the quicker we’ll witness election certifications.
Whoever appoints those who are legally recognized to certify elections — they too are now under scrutiny. No time to lose to weed out treason by proxy.
