This post caught my attention based on my birth name. 99.5% of the time when I introduce myself, I sense most people wonder, Is that his real name. Easy enough the speak. Odd enough to question given my gender and race. My standard reply when asked is, "I don't care what you call me, just not late for dinner ;)"
I know I've blushed many a time when I do my best to pronounce a new, unique name. I'm both grateful and humbled when my ignorance is met with grace and patience. Once I learn your name, know I welcome being corrected when I mistakingly mispronounce your name.
