The first time I traveled to Cairo I was transfixed by the intimate nature men were allowed in public. The simple act of holding hands while walking down the street — wow! I understood that two men holding hands in Cairo was simply an act of friendship. Some of those friendships might just be well hidden romantic relationships — got that.
I’ve yet to experience one city — anywhere in the USA — where two men may safely hold hands (sans an elderly man holding the hand of their son / brother). Two men holding each other’s hands — in the USA = GAY.
Ali — know I bow in gratitude to you for sharing your wit and wisdom!
