Slow travel = living in one place long enough to know how to effortlessly get to places for basic living. Food. Fun. Financials.
One of the first lessons I learned after living in one place for 22 years is how much I took forgranted 'how to get around.'
- Food shopping / restaurants? Knew how to effortlessly navigate to dozens of places.
- Fun? Linked into all sorts of spaces and places thanks to extended friendships.
Financials? Thanks to extended relationships with banks, shops, etc. - enjoyed thrift and sense of security with ease.
Moved to a new city?
THANK HEAVENS FOR GOOGLE maps! LOL
- Factor in at least 30 minutes of getting lost going to the simplest places.
- Remind myself that new faces take time to ripen into trusted faces based on mutual effort.
