Outstanding Mike! Spot on Samee Shahzada (comment below).
The fallacy of free information extends far beyond journalism. Talk to any professional. Ask them, “has anyone ever asked you for FREE advice?” Their answer will 95% of the time be — YES! (Not a day goes by when folks ask me for free advice after listening to one of my online classes LOL).
Heads-up to all souls who believe advice should be free. The next time you can settle your
- dinner tab
- grocery bill
- utility bill
- medical office visit invoice
- mortgage or rent
- let alone a cup of coffee at your local bistro
by telling the cashier, receptionist, landlord, bank, utility (et. al.)
that your advice helped someone else save the cost of the bill you’re trying to pay — and they accept your story — let me know!
Advice = years of study, experience, expenses.
Honor someone’s advice (news post, etc.) by crow-barring open your wallet to pitch in less than the cost of a movie ticket — each and every time you accept said advice…
