One of the more interesting aspects concerning suicide is timing. Society deems sudden suicides shocking, deplorable and riddled with shame.

Society deems slow, meticulous suicide - a norm. Examples include:

  • exponentially increasing rates of morbid obesity nurtured by consuming nutritionally-void processed (convenient) food;
  • excessive alcohol use.
  • Md prescribed pharmaceuticals.
  • working 40 (or more) hours a week for 40 (or more) years on a j.o.b. that offers little — if at all- a sense of joy or accomplishment.

Time to expand our notion of suicide to include more than mental concerns. Time to include what inspires a desire to check out to include:

  • fear of being without a home
  • fear of starving
  • fear of constant threat of violence
  • fear of being robbed blind.

Time for root cause analysis of the systemic cancers of greed, war, illness and related timeless causes of shortened lives.
