Totally agree with Chris Cohlmeyer’s comment: “A great actor not only dons the personae for a role but lives that personae as much as possible in order to be the person that they are portraying.”

Example — as an out gay soul for over 40 years imagine my surprise and delight when I interviewed Jon Garcia — writer / director of a trilogy:

• The Falls (2012)
• The Falls: Testament of Love (2013) and
• The Falls: Covenant of Grace (2016)

to learn that Jon as well as the lead characters played by Nick Ferrucci and Benjamin Farmer are straight gents. During our interview I complimented Jon for both his script and direction. Both leads portrayed a complicated loving same-sex relationship with such skill I assumed — yup! These actors are gay. Academy awards to Nick, Benjamin and Jon!
