Mila you feature one of the primary ways our evolution evolves at glacial pace — the parasitic nature of tribalism. We nurture illusions of comfort and continuity by wrapping ourselves in a warp of familiarity (tribes) and a weft of homogenetic experiences.

For example — as a Hawai’ian haole (born off-island — now a Hawai’ian card-carrying resident) I’ve witnessed third-generation born Hawai’ian’s (souls born on the Hawai’ian islands with parents and grand-parents also Hawai’ian island born) being shunned by true natives.

At what point does one’s place of birth matter other than creating a tribe?

Steal? No. Absorb? Possibly. Embrace? One day….
