Medium's decision to enhance their algorithm follows the same evolutionary path that made google - google, youtube - youtube (etc.)
Eyeballs / hits + Visit time = Volume. Volume = hard data. Hard data = ALEXA score.
Low ALEXA score = less eyeballs, hits, volume.
Post and run writers - do they increase Medium's ALEXA score? Depends. Do top writers visit medium.com multiple times a day? (Unlikely.)
I paid my Medium.Com dues based on a desire to enjoy a web platform I do very little to maintain. $50.00 a year to access a platform that:
- drives attention to my work
- pays me back
