As more big box stores adopt direct to consumer services - they'll usurp Shopify.

Example?

Costco (a brand) works with their vendors (supply chain) to pass through orders placed by Costco members. Say I order a bed through Costco's site. My order is actually passed to the bed manufacturer. The manufacture partners with major shipping vendors to ship my bed directly from their warehouse to my door.

Costco needs no warehouse.

Costco collects a 'referral fee.'

Eventually - when manufactures spend approprate funds to cut-out the middle (the Costco's, Sam's Clubs, et. al.) we'll see fewer big box stores. More shipping depots.
