And as we witness in daily life - martyrdom - comes in many shapes and sizes thanks to Professor Crenshaw's concept coinage of intersectionality.

Given my journey as a social worker, who's witnessed first hand the pandora's box specimens of spousal abuse and survivors guilt - I'm keen to observe a soul's capacity to maintain healthy empathy.

Healthy empathy requires skills to gain and maintain realistic perspective.

Example? Is it possible for me to solve world hunger? Maybe. Give me infinite resources and let's see what happens. What I can do is make sure I eat properly so that my health is good enough to help one more person eat properly should the need arise.

Battle of concepts has no winners when martyrdom is in fashion — at any level.

Has it occurred to anyone else the US is rapidly becoming the country it left in the 1700's?
