On my second read through I consistently ponder the ol cliché - history is our teacher. If true — what kinds of students are we? Do we learn from life lessons thus update our conscious thoughts as it relates to free will? Do we ignore life lessons so often it appears free will is nothing but cotton-candy blowing in the wind?
Harari clearly enjoys highlighting paradoxes. Example: we have the means to end hunger — now. More people DIE of causes of obesity — yet we still battle hunger. Hmmmm
As I explore Harari’s wit and wisdom — I bow in gratitude for his desire to balance teaching with learning . . .
