Your post feeds a paradox. The paradox? Followers who follow thousands. Those who follow say - more than 100 people - really? To what end?

No doubts the algorithms embedded in Medium.com uses one's following roster to shape their feeds. Algorithms may also assist with sorting posts from - more - to - less - personal interest. All well and good providing we remember algorithms willing co-create silos and echo-chambers.

I follow folks a bit differently. I bookmark/favorite a members profile page when I sense a desire to learn more about them as well as quickly locate their posts. I categorize my bookmarks / favorites by categories I make (versus Medium.Com tags).
