Over the past 40 years I've facilitated so many coming out groups I've lost count. The good news is I now need to factor in the reality most people "know" BEFORE the person comes out- and these people sincerely don't care. They're actually delighted the person coming out can be REAL with them.

This reality - while refreshing - is laced with agony all the way around.

The bad news is - coming out groups - still needed.

At the moment I consider "coming out" a "right of passage" similar to other culturally created and maintained "rights" such as graduations, marriage, etc.
