Aloha Eric,
From time to time I reflect on my up-bringing and how traits rooted in parental beliefs ripple to today.
For example? Credit. Parents taught me credit = soul mortgage. Is my finite life (time) worth a debit that has a life as well (interest)?
I watch people end amazing, loving relationships over financial debt issues. Too much debt? Declare bankruptcy and walk away. Too difficult of a relationship to do the work - declare bankruptcy (walk away from the relationship).
Your post reminds us to contemplate the rewards of diligence, effort, compassion, grace, collaboration, communication. Each reward is priceless. True?
