Aloha Dennis,
One of the more fascinating aspects of studies conducted by fee-generating / paying concerns is the bias buried within the study. Funders seek a specific outcome. Commercial studies deftly wordsmith questions to support their intended bias. THEN we have statisticians capable of data interpretation that lends support to biases.
As I read study results I've a keen eye on a) who funded the study (if it's possible to uncover the true source of funding) and b) what sort of time frame was said study allowed to live. Short time frames = pressure to provide results that fit intended outcome.
On a different note, my University implemented a much easier work-from-home program that's helped over 300K thus far. Imagine being paid to take a class (versus a survey). Our model is simple. Commissions. No hocus-pocus. Transparency baked into the process.
