Similar to a massive ship planning a left-hand turn. Drivers choose to turn left with little effort. Signal (hopefully) then turn. Massive ships (massive majorities) require incremental course corrections to actually complete a turn (change perspective).

Your post gently points out upcoming course changes. How quickly majorities adopt what may initially appear to be contravening perspectives (thanks to post similar to this post) - time will tell.
