After releasing my "Ah! A book informercial" perspective I shifted to an appreciation for Krznaric's wit and wisdom.
Concomitant in co-creating long-term visions (then actions) embraced by present and future generations is a eye on how to release the corrosive elements engendered in crafting legacies.
Specifically - how do we co-create and maintain legacies free of doubt, guilt, shame and worry.
For example, crafting legacies rooted in guilt (from real or perceived failures of past and present generations) engenders shame.
Shame-based social / cultural norms - while instrumental as a control mechanism - is parasitic. A quick study of parasites shows us how parasites kill their hosts.
Long-term planning requires a persistent evaluation on traditions that perpetuate unhealthy habits to include the conscious and unconscious engagement of doubt, guilt, shame and worry.
